About Artist

My name is Sudha Mishra. I am a visual artist based out of Bellevue, Washington where I live with my family.

My work has elements of realism, impressionism, and abstract expression. Oil, acrylic and watercolor are my preferred mediums. I love experimenting with colors in my art.

Nature inspires me. Being in nature has a calming effect as well as an aliveness which I translate into my art. The inspiration of changing seasons, the incredible beauty of mountains, lakes, the ocean, to my daily walks in my neighborhood – these all fill me with joy and lightness. These are the feelings that I love to bring into my paintings. My intent for my art is to bring a sense of joy, vibrancy, and lightness. It is to both bring calmness as well as movement and energy.

Even though I have been making art on and off throughout my life, I have studied and worked in several other fields including technology and graphic design. About six years ago, I decided to pursue art full time. It felt like I was coming back home. When not painting, I like to travel with my family.
